Momentum against Uyghur forced labor grows as U.S. and U.K. governments take action
The U.S. government has banned all cotton from the Uyghur Region, finally complying with the demands of Freedom United and our allies in the Coalition to End Forced Labor in the Uyghur Region. The U.K., meanwhile, has taken action by introducing new supply chain reporting rules, but Freedom United argues they don't go far enough to create real change. Read more...

Tackling forced organ harvesting backed by U.K. government
In an encouraging step for Freedom United's campaign against forced organ harvesting, the U.K. government has backed an amendment to give authorities greater powers to prevent forced organ harvesting from impacting the country's healthcare system. The amendment to the Medicines and Medical Devices Bill is expected to become law in April. Read more...

Home Office rejects 12-month support for trafficking victims
Despite repeated calls from Freedom United and allies to expand support for survivors of modern slavery, the U.K. government has voiced its opposition to the Modern Slavery Victim Support Bill in its current form. The bill would guarantee 12 months of crucial support for survivors of modern slavery, including housing, regardless of immigration status. Read more...
