Obama on being elected President of the United States, and we
ask that he continue to show strong support for the Tibetan
people and help push for an end to China's occupation of Tibet.
During his time as a US Senator, Barack Obama met with the Dalai
Lama and urged Chinese president Hu Jintao to meaningfully
address the Tibet issue. He was also a Senate sponsor of the act
which bestowed the nation's highest civilian honor, the
Congressional Gold Medal, on the Dalai Lama. Read more about

* Ask your friends, family (especially kids!), fellow students
and co-workers to also send letters and cards.
* Identify yourself as a Tibetan or Tibet supporter.
* Include a sticker, drawing, or cut-out image of the Tibetan
flag with your letter or card.
* Include an example of the brutality of China's ongoing
military crackdown in Tibet (e.g. Chinese forces are torturing
and beating Tibetan monks in their monasteries).
